Oh my gosh. Today sucked big time.
I was at a horseshow. I still know I'm fat, but like I can still fit into the clothes I wore two summers ago when I was super-skinny, so it messes with my self-perception I guess. I watched the video my mom took of me in English Equitation (that's based on my riding form, not my horse) and I was seriously grossed out. I was suprised at first when I didn't place, but the judge was probably watching me thinking "Ew, that girl can't ride". My thighs just look huge, and I bounced around on the saddle waaayyy too much. Like the top six girls were twigs. Ugh.
Oh, I was watching E! news a few minutes ago and they were showing a thing on Hilary Duff. I seriously would kill to have her body now. She is going to be on the cover of SHAPE magazine for August, and I can't wait to read her story. I dunno, it looks like she added some weight training to her regime, because she looks super-toned, but still skinny.
I bought some Hoodia Gordonii today. I hope it'll help. I really would like to start Hydroxycut or something, but the whole actual diet pill thing scares me, because I don't want to depend on them. Anyone have successs with Hoodia?

So this is my first entry. be nice lol. Here are my stats. I am 16 years old 5'6" i weigh 175 lbs and my goal weight is 125. I have to admit i am a little obsessed with losing weight. If anyone has any tips that would be awesome!! so today i've eaten almost nothing, but that happens a lot while i am in school. I do great during the day but between 3:30 and 8 o'clock I am horrible!! If you have any tips on ways to avoid bingeing please help! SO today i have had:
24 oz crystal light water (0 cal)
1 peice of orbit gum (about 5 cal)
2 peanut butter crackers (70 cal)
24 oz water (0 cal)
I am constantly drinking water to keepmyself full! Anyway I hope i can find support here! thanks! Current Mood: anxious

Current Weight: 150lbs
Exercise: starting up the gym again and sports which i usually do.. havent been able to do either due to ankle injuries which i can thank for weight gain! but i am all good now and starting them up again this week (:
Lose Weight: currently on trimspa and it is really just helping with the overeating, i feel like i'm finally eating normal instead of having a mega binge at all meal times and in between! also just eating generally more healthy, i found i was getting so unhealthy with eating habits and i would get so fatigued and puffed so i found that will to find healthy alternatives for my own good. me and diets dont get along, healthy eating is more for me (:

highest weight= 149lbs.
lowest weight= 118lbs. [summer]
lose weight= im trying to eat healthily, working out daily, when im bored i workout, when im angry its my fuel for a workout, when im thirsty i drink water, when im hungry i eat fruit, im still eating.
upside-down crunch= it was in a seventeen magazine or something, but it works your lower & upper abs.
how- lay down on your back, raise your legs keeping them together, bring them back down, not touching the floor, repeat. do as many as you can, keep count. beat that count next time you do it.
im just here to stay motivated and such.
i can help people stay motivated, ill reply to posts and all that fun junk.

Hi all! Losing the weight is getting easier, as long as I can stay away from pizza and oreo cookies, but I still need more support.

2) i am doing Weight Watchers, and i am trying to convert to organic food
3) walking works, and making small goals to set (like 5 pounds). and dont be like "i'm gonna loose 20 pounds by june" or something, because most likley its not gonna happen.)
4) i have no recipies but if you like tuna, split the mayo amount in half and use mustard for the rest!! its really good! Current Mood: accomplished

Frustrated beyond words
Ok..Since August 1, I am down 3 kgs, been going to the gym practically every day (I have missed 8 days in the past 6 weeks) I even hired a personal trainer. 3 freaking KGS???? What is the point???
Measurements at the Start:
Waist: 98 cm
I must say...what is the point?? I have been eating healthy. No fries, burgers, chips, fast food for 6 weeks. I have been documenting everyhting I eat. I have been GOOD! No, I do not expect over night results, but in 6 weeks, I expect more than 3 kgs.
My trainer said he could have me at 75kgs by Xmas. Really?? at 3kgs every 6 weeks, that puts me at about 84kgs by Xmas. Nice try buddy. Man, if this is what is all worth, I say sod it. Current Mood: AURGH!!!!!!!!!

So went to my first Weightwatchers meeting in a little over 3.5 months last night. I've gained back more than I thought, but I'm not totally heartbroken or pissed at myself. At least I'm starting back now - that's the most important thing, and I know that I can do this, because I've done it before. I have a total of 79 pounds to lose to be at my goal. My goal is to have it all off in a year. So as of September 1, 2005 I will have lost 79 pounds - or more, depending on how things go.
I even signed up online at Shape.com to be a part of the message boards and have already gotten some really great advice. I know this sounds totally "Sucessories" but I heard it last night and it totally made sense and rang true to me - If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. And I know now that to remotivate myself I'm going to have to plan meals on a weekly basis and keep track of stuff, and it actually feels good and I'm excited about it again. Really excited.

I am not back in Hong Kong. Have been home for 4 days now ad have exercised every day so far. I feel proud of myself, but I worry that it will not last long.
Question? How much aerobic exercise daily is enough? I have been doing 20 mins on the stairmaster and then 20 mins on the bike or treadmill. Today, I did my gym time BEFORE I ate anything and now I am thinking I should go BACK to the gym. Is that obsessive?
In the last 4 days, I have been writing down what I have been eating. Lots of water, which may be due to the fact that HK is SO darn humid. My lunch today feels like it is sitting in my tummy. Pasta and sauce with beef/mushrooms/cheese. Not a BIG bowl, but enough that I now feel almost ill.

Am new here and I need HELP!!!!!!
Went to the Doc the other day. he is not happy with the weight gain of 30 KGs over the past 4 years and we (being me) must do something about it.
I NEED HELP as I am too too lazy.
Weight today: Do I have to say this out loud?? 95 Kgs.
Goal weight: 55kgs.
I am home for the summer, so people keep taking me out for dinners and my beer/rye consumption is WAY high. I love veggies and fruit, but chips and dip are much more fun. I hate working out but will have to force myself.

First time for everything....
This is my first time posting to this particular community, so here goes..
Current wt.: 230
Goal weight: 165
Okay, well, I've been on Weightwatchers now for over a year, and I have to be totally honest - I've lost my motivation. I'm not keeping track of my points, I'm not exercising as much as I should, and I'm kind of wandering around looking for motivation. Any ideas on how I can get my motivation back?
Also, I know that my true motivation should be to feel better about myself. I get that, but if what really might spur me is a combination of proving to myself that I can do this, but also to prove to other people that I won't remain fat for the rest of my life, isn't that motivation valid as well? I have a 10 year class reunion coming up in 2 years - now I realize that that seems like a long ways away, but why not get it off now and keep it off and be comfortable in my skin by the time the reunion rolls around? This is my true goal. However, I would really like to have the remaining 65 pounds off by my birthday of next year, which is April 4th, 2004. Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya. I'm new to this community. I'm glad to see so many communities out there that promote weight loss in a healthy way. Since I have done *alot* of research on the subject, I figured I'd share, since one of the objectives on the rules page was "tell us something we might not know".
So here starts my advice.
Diets don't work. This is because today, a diet is a short-lived term where you eat as little as possible, only to break down in a week or two and eat as much junk as you can stuff into your face. To lose weight, you must make a life change.
Instead of just not eating, why not give your body what it needs.
When you eat enough healthy food to keep yourself from being hungry, you do not gain weight - and most of the time (unless you are already very skinny), you lose it. Eating healthy food makes your body's metabolism rise. Having high metabolism burns more calories naturally ( - without any effort to burn them) than having a low metabolism, wqhich is caused by not feeding yourself when you're hungry. I can't stress enough how important it is to EAT! :)
Instead of following any of those fad diets out there, just choose to eat healthy choices when you're hungry. When you go to the grocery store, 90% of what you want to buy is along the outside edges of the store. The fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains and meat will all be there. Make it a goal to buy (or eat; if you don't do your own shopping) as few things as possible from those inside racks. emember not to live off your favorite food group.
In order to lose weight, you should have a balanced diet of different kinds of food. A good split is 40/30/30. This is percentages of intake; 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. Yes, it is okay to eat fat! It keeps your body alive, and helps prevent you from storing fat. If you don't eat enough fat, your body holds onto whatever it can get.
Basically what I'm trying to say is please do yourself a favor and eat! Your body will love ou for it, and you'll love your body, too.

I'm new, obviously. I'm 17 and I'm going to be a senior this year in high school. I have recently been put on the pill due to irregular periods. I don't drink alcohol excesivly and I haven't had a carbonated drink since the 8th grade. I'm very unhappy with my body right now. I know that the weight gain was due to the pill and I don't like it at all, I come home at night and cry because in my eyes I'm fat. I would love to get down to 120lbs, but due to my bone structure I don't think that's possible for me. I'm 5'6" and weigh 145, two months ago I weighed 128-130. My goal is to weigh 130 by August 18th. I start cross country tomorrow and I've been cutting down on what I eat.
I joined the community because for two years of my life I was anorexic, I'm afraid of falling back into that cycle. I need to talk to people who understand...my friends really don't. They aren't as hard on themselves as I am. And I would love to look like them and not have to work for it, but I'm not like that I have to work so I'm here.

hi, i'm new here and i'm really glad i found a weightloss community. i'm going into 10th grade in september but i am overweight and i really want to loose tons of weight but i don't know what to do as in a 'diet plan'. do you guys have any suggestions/comments as to what i could do. i would really appreciate this <3

I'm fighting what was already at best a evenly tied war with my weight and now here come "meds that make you fat". I won't blame the meds because I know weight=calories in-calories out but this med makes me hungry, thirsty, and retain water. I am concentrating on drinking at least 100 oz of water per day to try to get the water weight off and flush other things out. But no budge on the scale except an occasional blip up or blip down by one or two pounds. But basically static. It's very frustrating.

I went and changed my name and address on my driver's license today. It will expire and I will get a new one in January. I have decided that my goal is to be at the weight on my license when I renew it. So I need to lose 45 pounds by 12/31/04.
